About AppStack HQ

AppStack HQ maps and compares apps in a few areas we know well: padel, and apps for learning to trade with play money. We'd rather cover a handful of categories properly than every category badly.

The site is run by Lauris, an iPhone and Apple Watch app developer based in Latvia. Building apps means spending a lot of time in the App Store's data, and that's where most of our research starts.

How pages are made

Some pages are data studies of every app in a category, built from App Store prices, ratings and user reviews; others are hands-on tests on real devices. Each page says which it is, and the full method is on the How we test page. Our datasets are free to use under CC BY 4.0: credit AppStack HQ and link to the page.
